#1766 use an explanatory macro for checking if a domain is a subdomain

We use this shorthand on some places in the code:

if (domain->parent && domain->fqnames)

to detect if the domain is in fact a subdomain. We should wrap this in a macro so that it's more obvious that this is a subdomain detection.
