This is an enhancement to the prefork code. It shouldn't require any changes to it (for sync reasons with Samba), so I suggest creating a small framework on top of it, that providers could use. The framework would generate worker processes using prefork with a D/S-bus interface setup.
I'm currently learning how D/S-bus is used taking the proxy provider and monitor code from SSSD as inspiration and extracting the common reusable parts.

This should not be closed. We still want this functionality for the proxy provider, the kerberos child and the LDAP child. I recommend SSSD_DEFERRED.
