#472 pkispawn should test DS info
Closed: Fixed Opened by edewata.

In both interactive and silent mode the pkispawn should test the DS info before starting the installation process to avoid failures in the middle of installation.

This includes 3 different tests:

  • The connection test to validate the the hostname and port.
  • The authentication test to validate the bind DN and password.
  • The data test to validate the base DN.

Suppose the connection test or the authentication test failed, if this is an interactive installation the user needs to reenter the DS info. If this is a silent installation, the whole operation should fail.

Suppose the data test determines that the base DN already exists, if this is an interactive installation the user needs to confirm whether to cancel or overwrite the existing data. If this is a silent installation the behavior should follow the pki_ds_remove_data parameter.

These tests should be contingent upon "pki_skip_configuration=False" (the default value); otherwise this helper method should always be run in the initialization scriptlet.
