Now that we are using Tomcat 7 and Java 1.7, revisit utilizing JAASRealm instead of Tomcat Realm to reduce our dependence upon Tomcat.
IMPORTANT: If JAASRealm is tightly coupled to the JAAS (Java Security Model), this may not be appropriate since NSS has requested that we utilize JSS rather than JAAS facilities. If this is the case, could "Realm" logic be added to JSS instead of utilizing Tomcat?

I'm closing this. If we wish to revisit it later, we can, but we're heavily dependent on Tomcat for other reasons, so there's little reason to do this at this time.
