Currently EPEL ships pam_radius v1.4 and I would like to update to v2.0 in EPEL9 and 8. This new version includes several patches to make this PAM module thread-safe.
I've been checking the Packaging Guidelines and the most similar use case is the major version update, but in my case there isn't any ABI or manual config file adjustment to be done.
Is there any special consideration to be taken into account to update pam_radius to v2.0?
We appreciate you asking. If there isn't any ABI or manual config file adjustments, I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to do an upgrade. Doing a quick check shows that there aren't any runtime dependencies on the package, which makes it even safer.
