#620 Can't add avatar on badges page
Closed: duplicate Opened by tablepc.

I am new to the QA group and I have been keeping track of my badges. Thank you I really like them. I noticed on my badges page (when I am logged in) that the is a button to click for changing my avatar. Since I don't have one, I thought I would add it. When I clicked the button though I got a 403 error saying my browser did not provide the Referrer Header. I made sure that was turned on and tried again with the same error. I even tried a different browser an got the same error. When I lookd into it further I see that the website that hosts the avatars is going out of service in a few months. So I'm thinking that the Avatar button on the Badges page was disabled by making the 403 error always show up. Will Fedora Avatars be going away?

Hi @tablepc, thanks for filing an issue here.

Will Fedora Avatars be going away?

This is a question that is being answered for a lot of Fedora Infrastructure applications. I am not aware of any decision that was reached. I know developers of other Fedora Infrastructure applications are also considering the same.

This bug was reported in the web application GitHub repository for the project, Tahrir. See this issue for more info:

https://github.com/fedora-infra/tahrir/issues/387

Since this is a bug with either Tahrir or Libravatar, I am going to close this issue as wontfix, since issues in this repository are either for (1) designing / modifying Fedora Badges, or (2) adding / fixing rules for Fedora Badges.

Follow the discussion in that GitHub issue for more info. Thanks again for reporting this.
