Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"):
Help the badges team understand what this idea is all about. If this badge is awarded for certain kinds of activities:
1) What are those activities?
2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans? users? sponsors?)
3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?)
4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?)
5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console? by using a web interface?)
Lastly, do you have any ideas for artwork concepts?

Hello @riecatnor . please help me review this badge design for L10N. I tried creating an Asian Thawab , I really hope it illustrates and explains in clear terms what the L10N stands for , I believe L10N is an acronym for Localization .

Hi @preshy21 good first draft I am not sure I am understanding the concept of your design. Can you explain a bit what you are going for?
Meanwhile, if you are looking for concepts, I though of a couple nerdy ideas!
Thanks!
thank you,@riecatnor will effect some changes, but I had the Asian Thawab concept in mind
Hello, @riecatnor Here's my contribution to this issue. Please let me know what you think
Hi @ooree good first draft I am not sure I am understanding the concept of your design. Can you explain a bit what you are going for?
If you need a concept, I made some suggestions in a comment above (https://pagure.io/fedora-badges/issue/762#comment-697840)
Hello @riecatnor , thanks for the last feedbacks and corrections , I read through the babel fish article but I felt a simple translator Icon will explain the whole concept better. this is a new draft , please look through it and drop your feedbacks
hello @riecatnor ,please drop your thoughts on mine too

I have seen this; actually we have requested this for l10n group members in FAS, not for i18n (like i'm not a member of i18n).
I wish if i could get a distinctive & unique badge like i requested earlier. Hi @riecatnor , please check out my first draft of this art work
This looks interesting, what if you add a fedora lapel pin to his thawb
Hi @riecatnor , please check out my first draft of this art work This looks interesting, what if you add a fedora lapel pin to his thawb
Hi, do you know where I can get those please?
hI @emem thanks for getting started on this! before you move forward, I would like to discuss the concept for this one a bit further.
@shehroz what do you think about making the concept focused on the translation or international aspect versus focusing on one culture? Translation is a global activity and the badge art should reflect that in some way
Here are a couple of ideas: - concepts I added to this comment: https://pagure.io/fedora-badges/issue/762#comment-697840 - This badge art could be adapted, as it has the calligraphic writing theme already: https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/novice-wordsmith-i - Here is another translation related badge: https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/khmer-translation-hero-2017
Hey everyone! I tried getting closure on one of the design tickets and thought of working on a badge ticket. So here's my iteration, I had been following this issue and was waiting to work on this xD went through the earlier comments and artworks by people here and was inspired by their amazing work. I tried making the babel fish, I was really inspired by the fact behind it! (I have it downloaded but still need to read :P) I tried my best following all the guides and rules and made the fish from scratch, yet I'm confused that: 1. the fish color is of extended color palette, I don't know if it is okay to use it 2. the background should have been green(?) as it is a membership badge, but i used blue background from the templates as it was a fish, and I saw earlier that the background could be changed according to the badge content so I wasn't sure
I chose yellow as babel fish is yellow in color, the yellow of the main palette was looking a bit dull. I will post an iteration with it too! Looking forward to your feedbacks @riecatnor !
As promised, here's an iteration with the features orange of fedora palette:
I personally like the previous iteration more
Hi @swast1 nice work! A couple notes for you: - I tried opening the SVG and inkscape wouldn't open it.. any idea why? - Make sure you are using the template correctly and exporting at 256x256 pixels - What color blue are you using for the background? It looks close to the fedora blue but not quite? I would either use the fedora blue, or make it more like the background from this badge: https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/clickbait-fedora-magazine-i - I would use a lower case "f" in the comfortaa typeface - The orange of the fish isn't standing off the background too well, but I think when you change the color of the background that could be resolved. Either way, I think the stroke on the fish needs to be increased a bit Looking forward to your next draft!
Hey @riecatnor , Thank you so much for the feedback! yes i cannot open it too, I don't know why I am a bit confused about the size of the badge, I guess I have figured it out but let me know incase it is wrong
The blue I used previously was from the backgrounds template so I thought it might be correct to use it. Let me know how the next iteration looks like I have changed the pattern of the fish skin
Another iteration with blue bubbles: I read it in the guide that the outline must be a darker color, so I did not use it in the main iteration but here's one incase you prefer it
I tried a ton of patterns for the fish skin but ended up with this one, let me know if I should experiment more
Let me know what you think about these whenever you get time :DD

Hi @riecatnor I made changes to the last design based on the corrections you pointed out regarding making the fish stand out from the background
@designstacks great effort, in the meantime have you tried with other backgrounds?
