Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"): - You participated in Fedora Appreciation Week 2023!
Help the badges team understand what this idea is all about. If this badge is awarded for certain kinds of activities:
1) What are those activities? - Writing a contributor story and submitting on Gitlab, sharing community pictures on Discourse or writing a social media post (Twitter, Mastodon, Instagram) and using the hashtag #WeAreFedora.
2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans? users? sponsors?) - Any contributor to Fedora.
3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?) - To give their thanks and appreciation to other contributors to Fedora.
4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?) - This particular event is a week long, November 6 - 12, 2023, but it is appreciating the work people do year round :)
5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console? by using a web interface?) - By showing appreciation to other Fedora contributors
Lastly, do you have any ideas for artwork concepts? - Social media art work has been created here.
I have a draft here! This is my first badge, so be nice :joy:
I took @designstacks idea from this ticket and edited it a bit to fit the theme of this years Appreciation Week.
Let me know what you think
Hi @ekidney nice start on this badge art! I have a couple pieces of feedback for you to make this more "badge-y" - Use the new fedora logo for the logo on the shirt. I would try the white version, it will stand out a lot more than the new fedora blue - I like the concept of the thumbs up, but they are looking a bit stiff and maybe not so panda like.. I think something like this might fit better (just the arm/paw part).. where its nice and round and squishy like a panda :D - I think the background purple is washing out the hearts a bit, I would suggest making that a bit lighter, which in turn you will probably need to make the confetti a bit whiter too to make sure they dont get lost in the background - Last, I think the "2023" is the part of the design that sticks out the most.. although its an important piece, I think the panda and other aspects are more important.. so maybe reduce the size of the year and give the panda a bit more space to shine :blue_heart:

woohoo, thanks :tada:
This appears to be a recurring event. Has it been held previously? If so, could someone post a link, please? I couldn't find any related badges.
This is the second time we are organizing it, and we didn't manage to have a badge when we organized FAW in 2018. So this is the first badge we wil have for FAW :tada:
Who needs authorization for the badge?
@ekidney @jflory7 @jonatoni please
Any suggestions / wishes for the tag line? How about "Fedora loves you! :blue_heart:"?
Love it! Let's use that, if @jflory7 and @ekidney are okay with it as well.
LGTM too

Hey! Just saw that this badge was categorised as an event badge - I know it's technically an event, but I thought community suited it more since it's about thanking fellow contributors. WDYT? also, the band is pink to match the template of community - apologies if I should have specified.
Oops! My mistake. I'll fix that in situ. It won't affect any users that may already have gotten that badge.
