The CPE team are trialing out some of the Gitlab features in a private namespace, we discovered that the Fedora namespace has been reserved: https://gitlab.com/fedora
The user in question is kixus and I did some digging and this looks to be cybersquatting which the same user has done on several projects e.g. https://forum.gitlab.com/t/user-hording-group-names-on-gitlab-com/23614
Gitlab has a simple policy to deal with this which I will enact and have the ownership transferred to me on behalf of CPE and the project. I'm just double and triple checking that we do not have a Fedora user of this name, my account system searches are showing this is not the case.
I will raise this on a Fedora Devel thread as well in case the user does exist in Fedora and has a different FAS name
No action on the team, this is being raised for transparency purposes
If no responses are received by Friday the 18th of June, I will open the ticket process with Gitlab directly
Maybe also tackle https://gitlab.com/rhel at the same time?
Good catch will let the right folks know

I just submitted the request on behalf of the project as no objections or ownership was identified from within the Fedora community
