It worked fine for me with fedpkg-1.42-1.fc35.noarch. In any case, you should be able to build your package now that I've uploaded the sources for you :).

hmm, thanks for the upload. I'll see if I can trace this down any further. I was trying with:
fedpkg-1.42-2.el8.noarch python3-rpkg-1.64-4.el8.noarch
This seems like an issue in fedpkg itself. Please fill the bug upstream.
