Please, could you create an organization for Fedora Server in Fedora Forge

Organization Name

Fedora Server (pretty name)
fedora-server (URL part)

Note: For convenience, this is the naming Fedora Server is well known in the community. This way, no one has to find out or learn a new address. However, if our naming convention only provides for short names, i.e., “server,” then we are also in agreement with that.(the discussion seems undecided to me so far).

Description of Organization's Purpose:

Fedora Server Edition repositories and collaboration tools used by the Fedora Server Working Group.

The Fedora Server organization has been successfully set up on Fedora Forge. Here's what has been completed:

Organization Setup

  • New organization created: server is now live at https://forge.fedoraproject.org/server
  • Basic organization details: Filled out initial settings and information (owners can modify as needed)

Team Structure

  • Owners team: Mapped to the new forge-server-owners FAS group
  • Members: kevin, sgallagh, pboy (all set as both group members and sponsors)
  • Permissions: Full organization access and settings management by default in Forgejo
  • Members team: Mapped to the existing server-wg FAS group
  • Existing membership was not modified
  • Permissions: Write access to all repositories + ability to create new repositories
  • Access levels can be adjusted by owners team members as needed

Important Notes for Users

  • Team access updates: User team mappings (access grants/removals) will update when users next log in to Forge. users can log out and log back in to Forge to immediately refresh their team access
  • Organization profile page: To add a custom README visible on the main organization page, refer to the documentation at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/forge-documentation/create_org_profile_page/

The organization is now ready for use. Owners can begin managing repositories and adjusting team permissions as needed.
