Describe what you would like us to do:

My FAS account is 'dcantrel'. The reason I made it that is because my Red Hat account name was artifically truncated to "dcantrel" as well. Having the same username across systems made my life easier. However, it's a real pain because people see dcantrell and get confused.

As of today, after waiting 2 years, 8 months, and 25 days, Red Hat IT has changed my username across the board to "dcantrell". I finally have the trailing "L" on my username!

I would love it if my FAS account could follow this change as well. It is not urgent, but I would really appreciate the change.

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

We don't have any easy way to change account names, we use them all over the place to see who has done what.

Would an acceptable alternative be to make the new account and re-add you to all your groups and packages with that account? (so there would be a clear history still on the old account and the hand off to the new) ?

That would be fine with me. Just so long as all of the current capabilities are mirrored over to my new account. That does make the history easy.

Great. Can you make the new account? Then I can add your groups, etc and we can mark the old one inactive once you are using the new one.

Once you are using the new one you can go back in and set the old one to 'inactive'
