#507 knights updated to a beta version in stable Fedora release
Closed: Fixed by yselkowitz. Opened by yselkowitz.

knights is now part of KDE Gear and therefore can (and IMO should) be updated in lockstep with the rest of Gear. Unfortunately, it was unilaterally updated, and even worse, to a beta version (24.04.80) even in F40 which is now post-GA. The SIG should reach out to the maintainer and develop an understanding of how this package should be updated now that it is part of Gear.

This also happened for neochat where limb used proven packager rights to update the package to the beta: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2024-30110e7582

Commits were pushed without a PR. Yeah, we should reach out to him to let him know that we maintain those.

This has happened again with 24.07.80

This was communicated in channel, hopefully this won't happen again (although we won't see until 25.07.80).
