@otaylor has proposed a Change to offer a simpler mechanism to enable third-party software.

It would be great if we can support this in Plasma Discover and KISS.

@apol, @appadeia: do either of you know how difficult it'd be to support this?

Maybe you could provide something like that on Fedora.
That is an application that enables it, then Discover will find it.

So technically this is being covered by the new plasma-welcome page worked on by farchord which was being tracked on https://pagure.io/fedora-kde/SIG/issue/295

I'll go ahead and close this since that has been completed and the resurgence of KISS is being tracked elsewhere
