It looks like the process is pretty simple according to the Fireside's FAQ, but it doesn't mention what will happen with the external publishers (Google Podcast, iTunes, Spotify and more). I want to try it, but I think it will be better if we can close the deal to have a central owner and not me being the owner.

  • make the website and style it with @riecatnor

The website design exists in design#584. It's also being applied in the WP instance we create as podcast.fedoraproject.org

  • get infra to point DNS at it

I think we should do it backwards, make fireside to redirect to our site, or even not use this feature.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Could you expand on this?

Sure, Fedora council can setup Fedora project owning it right?

Sure. The feature here is that Fireside offers a website: "Every podcast gets a gorgeous, responsive website and blog.", but we got a WP instance that is accessible in podcast.fedoraproject.org and tons of works have been done to make it look good. So, instead of having a website from Fireside, I think it's better to keep our existing one and, if needed, configure fireside to point to that website.

Okay, can we configure Fireside to point there? Also if we want to do that, the WP site still needs a bit more work. I notice there's some hello worlds and stuff. I'ma make a new issue for this.

Fireside is up and running now, and I have podcast.fedoraproject.org/rss running good, and pointed toward fireside @x3mboy

I will get our transcripts put into fireside if you will send them to me @x3mboy

I think we can close thsi now

I'm realizing now that this actually shouldn't be closed. We still need to setup the integrations.

What we have made

  • Spotify
  • Amazon Music
  • Google Podcast

What we need to do

  • Stitcher
  • Apple

What we maybe should do

  • Pocket casts
  • pandora
  • Iheart
  • Radio.com
  • Deezer
  • Overcast
  • PlayerFM
  • Radio public
  • Tunein
  • breaker

Update

We do have now

  • Stitcher ( But we need to make put the credentials into the bitwarden )
  • Apple ( We need to get it re-linked to the website )
  • Pocket casts ( It's even connected to our fireside feed automatically )
  • iHeart ( also linked to our new feed )
  • Deezer ( this one too )
  • Tunein ( looks good )
  • Breaker ( looks good )

What we still should work on

  • PlayerFM ( is still connected to the old feed I think )
  • Radio Public ( is connected to the new feed, but has a hosts section that currently only shows Eduard. I honestly don't care about being represented, but if we want to update it..... )

I updated PlayerFM
