Step says to login utilizing the root account, but by default per >> https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit/issues/18427 >> the root account is disabled for login with cockpit, so the doc should mention either using a user account to login to cockpit and mention user creation or mention that root is disabled and if interested, how to enable root login.

Thanks for pointing out this outdated part.

It was a slightly more extensive problem and resulted in a major rewrite. It is currently in the staging area:
