#83 Amend the delivery mechanisms in the Product Requirement Document (PRD)
Closed by pboy. Opened by pboy.

We already have another delivery mechanism, a disk image for Single Board Computers (SBC), that we missed when we revised the PRD. In addition, a KVM virtual disk image is to be included.

New version of text of Section "Logistical Concerns", paragraph "Delivery Mechanisms"

Delivery Mechanisms

Fedora Server Edition generates installation resources for different scenarios

  • an offline install ISO image for a full local installation
  • a net install ISO image for booting into an online installation
  • a virtual disk image to be imported into a Fedora Server Edition KVM virtual environment
  • a disk image for installation on supported aarch64 single board computers (SBC)

Supported installation methods are:

  • Manual installation without a supporting infrastructure (e.g. the very first Linux server).
  • Automated (“mass”) installation within a larger Linux infrastructure (e.g. PXE is an option, may have LDAP/IPA).

Existing servers should be upgradable to new releases with minimal involvement by the admin.

Users will be able to obtain these images from the Fedora Project website and mirror networks.
