The "Baby Badger" badge is awarded to users on their first login to the Badges site. I noticed recently that my account was not awarded this badge when I first logged into the Badges site close to a year and a half ago.

If I had to suspect a particular reason, it looks like my Badges account "arrived" on 1-01-2014. If I recall correctly, I had made my account just a little bit past the New Year - I know that servers sometimes like to act up when big things happen like year changes / daylight savings time / etc., so perhaps this might be the root cause of the issue. If Badges accounts can be queried, other users who joined on the first day of a new year should also be checked to see if the issue is more widespread than just my account.
