Now that Totem is removed, there are no video thumbnails in Nautilus or in the file chooser. Maybe Fedora could ship with ffmpegthumbnailer or totem-video-thumbnailer installed?
ffmpegthumbnailer
totem-video-thumbnailer
This seems fixed in the latest nightly compose.
I grabbed the nightly image from October 2 at https://mirror.23m.com/fedora/linux/development/43/Workstation/x86_64/iso/ and did a fresh install.
Thumbnails for screencasts appear just as expected.
rpm -qa tells me that totem-video-thumbnailer-43.2-6.fc43.x86_64 is installed.
rpm -qa
totem-video-thumbnailer-43.2-6.fc43.x86_64
Yes, we added totem-video-thumbnailer back, but not before the beta release.
