So, if you'll note in FAS, the join message sent when a user is sponsored into provenpackager is:
"You're the man now, dog."
Which is a cute cultural reference... but not the most inclusive. Opinions on changing it to something a little more neutral/less culturally specific?
"Abandon hope all ye who enter here" ?
We could model it after the initial sudo warning.
I suppose something simple like "use your powers for good" might work?
Or boring and dry: "Please use your new privledges wisely"
Or "Greetings, Provenpackager. You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the frontier against Xur and the Ko-Dan armada"
As European I would prefer boring message. Cultural references to shows, which we never saw, are confusing.
+1 to changing.
Nirik's "boring and dry" wording strikes me as beset if our goal is clarity. (Spelling note: privileges )
+1 to nirik's proposed change.
Suggestion: "With great power comes great responsibility. Use it wisely."
This could hit the cultural nod without being exclusive.
+1 to changing
I like: * nirik's boring * sgallagh
Adding meeting keyword just to get this closed out, although I realize this is after the agenda went out.
In today's feso meeting we agreed that the new provenpackager join message will read: "Please use your new privileges wisely."
notting is going to fix this.
Done.
