#1779 Consider fedora-* initscript units
Closed: Insufficient data Opened by sgallagh.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1493479 was opened requesting permission to include

  • fedora-load-modules.service
  • fedora-import-state.service
  • fedora-readonly.service

from the initscripts package into the fedora-release presets. There has been disagreement in the BZ ticket, therefore I am escalating this decision to FESCo as per the policy.

Just to clarify:
Currently those services are statically enabled, which is probably against current guidelines and users can't override this with their own preset drop-ins. Right now we just want to fix this, by moving those unit files to fedora-release presets.
I thinks we have all agreed that we want to drop these unit files, but that is plan for more distant future and requires further discussion and changes.

This will be discussed in this week's FESCo meeting, on 2017-10-06 at 16:00:00 UTC in #fedora-meeting.

From the FESCo Meeting 2017-10-13

#agreed Proposal: Based on latest BZ update, ask if FESCo is still needed in the process and defer to next week if needed (+1:8, -1:0, +0:0)

Does FESCo still need to make a decision? It appears that there has been an agreement in Bugzilla.
