For the next FESCo meeting to review:
BINUTILS 2.30

Rebase the binutils package from version 2.29 .1 to version 2.30. This will bring in bug-fixes and some new features.

This should be upgraded to a system wide change. Even though it's just one package, we already know that incompatibilities affect multiple packages and require work-arounds or fixes there or in binutils.

I second the comment that this should be a system-wide change, since so many other parts of the system depend upon binutils. That being said, I'm still +1 for this change.

This was discussed during FESCo meeting, and the change was accepted, but with the provision that it is "upgraded" to a system wide change.
