#1880 Nonresponsive maintainer: tomprince
Closed Opened by ventz.

Hi,

Trying to take over "lastpass-cli" (among myself, and a co-maintainer - Steve Huff) as per: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Policy_for_nonresponsive_package_maintainers

  • The package has not been updated in 2+ years - previous lastpass developer has already attempted to get in touch with package maintainer
  • The maintainer is not listed as on vacation
  • The maintainer has not responded to the bug report (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1564211) and 2 comments, including an attempt from the package developer
  • The maintainer has not responded to direct emails (before bug report, and after)
  • An email has been sent to the dev list - it seems the maintainer has moved on and has abandoned the package.
  • There is a critical bug in the package which bans the user and blocks the LastPass account.

Thanks,
-Ventz

Yeah, looks like the maintainer is completely inactive.

@ventz I see you are not yet a packager. Did you have someone who was going to mentor you / co-maintain? If not, we will need to find someone to do so. ;)

@kevin - Correct - I am not, and yes, I would like to co-maintain with Steve Huff (he maintains a few RPMs/packages).

Here is what I created to generate a consistent package so far:
https://github.com/harvard-itsecurity/rpm-lastpass-cli

That said - I am definitely interested in learning about the process/any specifics. I am assuming it's not too bad :)

This was discussed in the FESCo meeting on 2018-04-20:
AGREED: orphan/reassign inactive maintainers packages (+1:8, -1:0, +0:0)

@zbyszek Thank you.

It seems that we missed to actually orphan/re-assign the packages, I did this now:

Giving rpms/lastpass-cli to orphan
Giving rpms/python-characteristic to orphan
Giving rpms/python-idna to jcline
