On the FESCo election policy, https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FESCo_election_policy#Digest, it says "Candidates must self-nominate at least three days before the election opens by writing their information onto the wiki.".
I don't know exactly how to parse this:
I am assuming that the first one was meant (but that contradicts the feeling you get from the https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Development/SteeringCommittee/Nominations where it has a column for "nominated by"), but the sentence is ambiguous.
I think this is easily fixed by changing the text to:
"Candidates must be nominated at least three days before the election opens by writing their information onto the wiki. If the candidate did not self-nominate, they can decline the nomination by removing their name from the page."
Let's not make this overly complicated.
Yes, that's how I understood this too.
Maybe we can even get rid of the second sentence? It's not just candidates that were nominated by someone else. All candidates can remove their candidacy at any time before the election starts.
+1 to @jwboyer's proposal

I do not think the three day limit applies any longer, I suggest
"Candidates must be nominated before the announced date and time for the closure of the election nomination period by writing their information onto the wiki. If the candidate did not self-nominate, they can decline the nomination by removing their name from the page."
updated text based on comments during the meeting
"Candidates must be nominated before the announced date and time for the closure of the election nomination period by writing their information onto the wiki. If the candidate wishes to decline or withdraw the nomination they can do so by removing their name from the page."
