Until the question around formal meeting procedures (aka "replace zodbot") is answered, I don't think we have a choice except to stay with IRC.

That said, I'd much prefer to be on Matrix in the future, if only because it's more easily accessible when I can't be at my regular desktop.

The new bot is still missing a lot of necessary features and has not been deployed. It seems to me that this proposal is putting the cart before the horse and should thus be put on hold until https://pagure.io/cpe/initiatives-proposal/issue/29 progresses.

The state of the solution is really not relevant to my proposal. Either we will revisit this next week or in 5 years -- but we still cannot do this today.
