Obsolete Redis for Valkey due to Redis's license change to RASLv2/SSPL.
Owners, do not implement this work until the FESCo vote has explicitly ended. The Fedora Program Manager will create a tracking bug in Bugzilla for this Change, which is your indication to proceed. See the FESCo ticket policy and the Changes policy for more information.
REMINDER: This ticket is for FESCo members to vote on the proposal. Further discussion should happen in the devel list thread linked above.
This will be discussed at the FESCo meeting today at 19:00 UTC in #meeting:fedoraproject.org on Matrix.

Recording my vote from the meeting, I'm -1 on this change currently. I don't think we should force users to upgrade.
We talked during today's FESCo meeting about waiting on this change until @jonathanspw has his compat packaging work done and we will revisit this at a meeting in two weeks.
* TOPIC: #3203 Change: Replace Redis with Valkey (@mhayden:fedora.im, 19:12:10) * AGREED: Wait to vote on change #3203 as it is currently written with a plan to revisit it before F41 change freeze. (+6, 0, -1) (@mhayden:fedora.im, 19:48:33) * ACTION: Revisit change #3203 in 2 weeks once jonathanspw has the work done on the compat pkg (@mhayden:fedora.im, 20:04:42)
My COPR for Valkey contains the latest POC replacement script and the "Obsoletes" for rawhide.

A copy of the script exists in the main Fedora Valkey (without an Obsoletes) repo:

This will be discussed during the meeting today at 19:00 UTC.
I'm not going to make it to the meeting, but my vote is +1 to go ahead and move to Valkey. It looks like it's shaping up to be the true successor at this point.
+1 from me as well.
This was discussed during the meeting today: APPROVED (+8, 0, 0)
