#3228 Change: Remove ifcfg support in NetworkManager
Closed: Accepted by jistone. Opened by amoloney.

Remove support for connection profiles stored in ifcfg format in NetworkManager.

Owners, do not implement this work until the FESCo vote has explicitly ended.
The Fedora Program Manager will create a tracking bug in Bugzilla for this Change, which is your indication to proceed.
See the FESCo ticket policy and the Changes policy for more information.

REMINDER: This ticket is for FESCo members to vote on the proposal. Further discussion should happen in the devel list thread linked above.

(I don't know if NM folks have checked to see if other distributions still need the plugin, it would be good to know, but at least from the Fedora perspective, this should be fine.)

I've checked SUSE (SLE and Tumbleweed) and they don't enable ifcfg support in NetworkManager. I'm not aware of other non-RH derivative distros that are potentially using the ifcfg format for network configuration.

What about the Mandrake family?
