Hello,
I would like to request marcdeop to be added to the provenpackager group.
provenpackager
The main reason for this request is to smooth out the process with updates on, mostly, KDE and Qt packages. @farchord and I often do KDE frameworks, plasma and gear updates which involve hundreds of packages. On occasions, we have to rebuild dependant packages (like, recently, calamares ).
I would also like to help @jgrulich with updates and rebuilds on the Qt stack.
I have been a fedora contributor for years and a member of the KDE SIG also for several years.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!
Marc Deop i Argemí
Not officially a sponsor, but as KDE SIG member and proven packager, I support this request.
+1 for giving @marcdeop provenpackager powers, even though my +1 doesn't have any weight.
Marc is a very responsible person, he had (and still has) a big influence on the KDE SIG and is one of the core members who does a huge amount of packaging work, including working on automation by writing update scripts and helping whenever he can. Becoming a proven packager will allow @marcdeop to do his job easier and faster.
+1 for giving him provenpackager powers for the reasons @jgrulich stated.

Given support from KDE and Qt maintainers, +1
Though I wonder if this couldn't be resolved in a less-big-hammer way, for example, by adding kde-sig group access to calamares (and other similar cases)? It doesn't sound like this concerns a large number of packages that would require provenpackager rights in general.
kde-sig is already in control of calamares. The issue is that this is required for Marc to assist @jgrulich on Qt upgrades and rebuilds, which go beyond KDE SIG maintained software.
(And this request is required because we don't have automatic reverse dependency rebuilds in side tags, but you've already heard my speech on this...)
FESCo members, before you proceed with voting as FESCo, please announce this issue to sponsors and let them vote as sponsors.
I have sent the email to packager-sponsors.
I'm +1 to this request.
+1
This has been over a week and I see 9 +1's, and 0 -1's, so this request is approved.
Use your powers wisely!
