A rewrite of Greenboot written in Rust will be released, designed for use with bootc and rpm-ostree based systems. This Greenboot release will have the same functionality as the original Bash release, which was only intended for rpm-ostree based systems.
Owners, do not implement this work until the FESCo vote has explicitly ended. The Fedora Program Manager will create a tracking bug in Bugzilla for this Change, which is your indication to proceed. See the FESCo ticket policy and the Changes policy for more information.
REMINDER: This ticket is for FESCo members to vote on the proposal. Further discussion should happen in the Discourse discussion linked above. Additional discussion may happen on the Fedora Devel mailing list.
I'm +1 on the change, but I think the rollback mechanism should be changed, as @decathorpe suggested:
"FWIW I don’t think untagging is a valid contingency mechanism. It’s a process that should be used only in emergencies (and usually only if the package hasn’t ever made it to published composes). In this case, reverting the Provides / Obsoletes / Conflicts changes should be done instead, IMO."
+1 (agree on updating the rollback)

Agreed, we will adjust the proposal to do that instead.
I'm still waiting for a reply to https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/KFWF5FX2PXIYFTOFEYLC5ORWUWUQHUOX/.
