#349 comps in git
Closed Opened by notting.

= Proposal topic =

As described on the development list, I'd like to move the comps file from Fedora CVS to Fedora Hosted git.
I've marked next Thursday, March 11, as the date for this.

= Overview =

comps will be imported from CVS into git. It will have the same access control.

bodhi, rawhide, and other processes will be modified to pull from the new location.

The CVS copy will be made read-only just in case we miss updating some user of comps. A file will be added
noting its legacy state.

Wiki documentation will be updated. devel-announce will be notified.

= Problem space =

The problem space is that CVS sucks.

= Active Ingredients =

releng, spins, and package maintainers are affected
What groups/systems/things are involved and/or affected by the proposal?

= Owners =

I'm doing the legwork here. This was proposed on list with no objections.
I am just filing the ticket so we can discuss if there are any major hurdles I'm
not seeing, or concerns about doing this now.

ricky notes that we might need to add @cvs to the list of allowed groups on fedorahosted to pull in packager group. That could potentially have the side effect of pulling in some other groups too.

If @cvs is not added, then all of the people with packager group won't be able to edit comps because not all of them belong to a group that is being pulled into fedorahosted ATM.

Update from ricky: We wouldn't even need to add @cvs, we could just add packager, so ignore everything I said about crufty cvs groups

This was 'approved' at the 2010-03-09 FESCo meeting.
