The gedit ecosystem (gedit, gedit-plugins, and libgedit-*) was recently updated upstream to version 49. (gedit versioning and release cycle has a tenuous relation at best to GNOME's nowadays, and the libgedit-* libraries all have their own versioning.) Some of the libraries, and gedit's own libgedit (plugin API library), underwent incompatible changes in this version, and therefore so far the update has been constrained to rawhide/f44.

No other packages outside the gedit ecosystem currently depends on these libraries. (Full disclosure: I have proposed the addition of enter-tex in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2427068 which would, but that originates from the same project and therefore stays in sync.) Therefore, for all practical purposes, this would be self-contained, but as it strictly speaking would be an incompatible change, pursuant to https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/#_exceptions I am hereby requesting an exception to bring this back to F43. Users would benefit from a return of a plugin which was dropped in 48.2 (F43) and restored in 49, and it simplifies maintenance for me by having to deal with fewer versions (since, unlike GNOME proper, only the latest version is supported).

The cumulative changes between 48.1 (F42) and 49 are quite disruptive however, and F42 doesn't have that much longer to go, so I am NOT planning nor requesting to bring this back to F42.
