#428 Fedora project members get Deja-dup compatible online backup space
Closed Opened by snecker.

= Proposal topic =

"Would it be nice..." sang the Beach Boys.
They were probably thinking about online backup and contributing to Fedora.
I would like to have some space online (say 2GB) where I can backup my homedir to, using deja-dup, some of which contains work that I do for Fedora.

= Overview =

Disk space is cheap and it would be nice to do this for hard working Fedora contributors. Can we get some space to do this - via ssh say?

= Problem space =

Fedora contributors having online backup in case their boxen est verboten.

= Solution Overview =

Run up a NAS with ssh and FAS authentication, kind of like fedora people.

= Active Ingredients =

Fedora admin and contributors. Maybe just do it on a opt-in basis.

= Owners =

I do. Chris Brown (snecker).

Hm, I'm not sure FESCo can allocate infrastructure's resources like this. We'd need them to comment on what would be required, what sort of SLA would be needed, and so-on.

(Also, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=593848 for using something like fedorapeople with deja-dup.)

Closing, please file as an infrastructure request.
