= Full Name = Jasper O'neal Hartline
= Qualifications = I have packaged applications for Fedora in the past, namely Kadischi. I was the maintainer of that package from 2006 until it was deprecated by pilgrim, and now livecd-tools.
I am familiar with packaging guidelines regarding proper spec file creation and maintenance also I have a good handle on maintaining smaller subsets of patches to packages, and I am almost always available.
= Rationale = I have applied for commit access on livecd-tools package as seen here: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/acls/name/livecd-tools?_csrf_token=d1f615512f8d619cfd3c637bc686c86d6ed1eee1
I have also tried contacting dhuff, katzj, davidz, and astokes via mailing list and IRC. I have also emailed Rahul Sundaram and he says he is not in a position to locate the current package maintainers to allow commit access to the repository.
When the other package maintainers are on vacation, namely Bruno Wolff and the rest of the people are unavailable for 4 months, I would like to be able to apply certain subsets of patches to livecd-tools for the enhancement of features which people will and have been waiting for some time, either via the RedHat Bugzilla, where people submit patches and via the livecd list mailing list, such as Dan Walsh's patch to allow creating a SELinux enabled, labeled LiveCD from a SELinux disabled host.
Including other minor enhancement changes to the package.
I can forward this on to sponsors for feedback, but I really don't think you want or need provenpackager here.
I see your commit acl was approved on livecd-tools. Does that not meet your needs?
Note that it would be good to coordinate changes with the spins list and the livcd-tools list. We shouldn't be making f14 changes at this point without a lot of testing. ;)
Correct. I just was able this morning to contact someone who could make the decision to grant commit on livecd-tools.
I am glad I could get this taken care of before F14 release though, sooner the better.
If you want to go ahead and close this ticket, it doesn't need to be forwarded.
Great. :)
