#538 I'd like to become a mcstrans packager.
Closed Opened by txtoth.

= Full Name =
Theodore Xavier Toth

Please provide your full name here. The existing sponsors that review your request are much less grumpy if it's here :)

= Qualifications =
I have been working with SELinux, MLS policy and the mcstrans daemon for 5 years. I am the co-maintainer of mcstrans along with Joe Nall.

Please list your qualifications that would make you a good provenpackager

= Rationale =
I have made recent modifications that have been reviewed and accepted by Tresys as part of their SELinux userspace repo. These modifications currently exist in source form in the policycoreutils package and need to be gotten into mcstrans which I propose to do along with Dan Walsh's help.

Is there an immediate package or group of packages that you require access to? Why would the normal process of applying for ACL's via pkgdb not work?

If you simply want to work on mcstrans, please consult with it's maintainers at
mcstrans-owner@fedoraproject.org

You will need to be sponsored into the packager group first.
See: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/HowToGetSponsored

I would like to give him the package. Since his group is the upstream for this package.

In order to make you a co-maintainer of the package in Fedora, you have
to be in the packager group. Typically you get sponsored into that
group by submitting new packages and reviewing packages to show that
you know the guidelines and how the process works. ;)

Of course this is a slightly different case here, because you are the
upstream maintainer and just want to help out that one package thats
already in Fedora. ;)

So, Dan: do you have anyone who could sponsor txtoth and mentor them on
the packaging process? Alternately, would you be willing to help them
with the process and mentor them? If so, I could look at sponsoring
them and try and help them with any packaging issues.

I'll work with Dan and Theodore. :)
