For the 2012-07-23 meeting.
CC'ing Thomas Woerner as a firewall guy - firewall change is one part of this feature and Firewalld by default aims F18.
Thanks. Thomas I made the change you suggested for examining the firewall in the "How to Test" section.
I think we missed each other again this afternoon on IRC. But I'd want to discuss with you the specifics of how to make Avahi be open in the firewall by default for desktop use cases, once firewalld is in control of the firewall.
firewalld - default firewall solution Feature, ticket [https://fedorahosted.org/fesco/ticket/906 #906].
Unlikely to be at the meeting - I am +1 on this feature. Am curious whether this applies just as well to other desktops, but they are free to install/uninstall avahi as they want, of course.
From the 2012-07-23 FESCo meeting: * AGREED: feature AvahiDefaultOnDesktop is approved (+:7, -:0 , 0:2 (jwb, pjones) ) (jwb, 17:52:17) * FESCo to follow up with twoerner on the opening of the port aspect (jwb, 17:52:36)
Please, follow up with twoerner. There are no new information on the discussion page.
Apologies for not updating the discussion page. There was plenty of discussion on IRC and via email. I've summarized on discussion page.
Thanks for the update, closing.
