The vast majority (close to 100%) of new systems sold are configured to boot via UEFI by default. 64-bit UEFI systems (ie, all of them except some old Macs) will only boot 64-bit operating systems. The default media should be something that we expect to boot current systems without manual reconfiguration - so let's switch to shipping 64-bit by default and retain 32-bit for compatibility with older hardware.

Live CD
This is the latest version of the Fedora Linux operating system's Desktop Edition. It's everything you need to try out Fedora — you don't have to erase anything on your current system to try it out, and it won't put your files at risk. Take Fedora for a test drive, and if you like it, you can install Fedora directly to your hard drive straight from the Live Media desktop if you like. Download Now!

What am I missing?
Hm. The "First, download a Fedora ISO" link on the right goes to 32-bit, which is what I ended up seeing first. http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-options also presents 32-bit first. http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-options#formats also lists 32-bit as "Most compatible", which is probably less true now. So really this may be website bugs rather than anything else.
please do file a bug on this in fedora-websites traq.
mjg, did you file the ticket? Could I close it?
This is fixed, thanks for the reminder.
