#376 [Talk-25] Free and Open Source Video Games on Fedora Linux
Closed: Talk Not Scheduled by riecatnor. Opened by t0xic0der.

Questions/Requested Information

What is your proposal?

Apart from the mainstream modern AAA titles, there are a plethora of free and open-source video games out there for people to enjoy but the chances are high that a majority of people are not even aware of those. We plan to discuss some of those FOSS video games, some of the major FOSS video game engines, some FOSS gaming tools, and how people can use Fedora Linux as their preferred platform for playing and creating FOSS video games.

Who in addition to the speaker needs to be in the virtual room for this to succeed? This could be the audience you need to reach, other participants in the conversation, or other stakeholders.

This talk is assured to be interesting for not only the existing Fedora Linux users but also those who are interested to use GNU/Linux distributions as their platform of choice for playing and creating FOSS video games. Therefore, this talk can potentially help showcase Fedora Linux and by that, bring new users into the ecosystem.

Is the idea that this talk would be focused on non-AAA games and #375 is focused on AAA games? My naïve question is why can't these be discussed in the same talk?

I suppose I was not able to convey myself properly on this ticket.

  1. The #375 ticket deals more with how Fedora Workstation performs with AAA games and how people can contribute to a better gaming experience.
  2. Whilst, this ticket talks about the existence of a multitude of FOSS games that people would probably not even know about but will probably enjoy.

Hope this thing makes it clear.

If this doesn't make the cut-off for Nest, I would like to see it at...

  • a future release party?
  • a non-Fedora conference showing off Fedora

Thank you for your submission!

At this time, your proposed session is under consideration for this year's Nest with Fedora event. The CfP review team have the following comments/suggestions to help improve your proposal, or make it more suitable for the audience we expect at Nest this year.

  • See comment: https://pagure.io/flock/issue/375#comment-807035

Please provide feedback based on these comments. We want to give everyone who submitted a proposal the opportunity to present at Nest if the content fits and there is still room in the schedule. Feel free to respond on this ticket.
