#91 Contributing to Fedora Haskell packaging
Closed Opened by petersen.

  1. What is your proposal?

Introduction to packaging Haskell projects in Fedora.
Both the creation and updating of packages will be covered using cabal-rpm.
Also we will discuss how we track Stackage LTS and maintain the entire set of packages using fedora-haskell-tools.
The remaining time will be used for tutorial Q&A and collaboration on how to improve the tooling.

  1. Who needs to be in the room for this to succeed?

List each person by their name and FAS ID, as shown below:

  • Jens Petersen (petersen)
  • Anyone interested in Haskell on Fedora

  • This is a…

  • 60 minutes: Talk

  • Anything else we need to know?

The aim of this session is to get more involvement and contributors to the Haskell SIG, since we have a lack of manpower.

  1. Who are you?

  2. Name: Jens Petersen

  3. FAS ID: petersen
  4. IRC Nick, if not FAS ID: juhp

I think learning about the latest updates to the Haskell SIG packaging tools would prove very useful. There are a lot of ghc-* packages, and quite a few fairly common packages rely on them.

I would attend this and also help with it if necessary and/or possible.

I regret that we are unable to accept this talk this year. There will be lightning talk sessions and I encourage you to consider this option.
