Perhaps use matrix.to instead ? https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/how-to-link-to-a-fedora-chat-matrix-room/33186
ie, matrix.to will tell any client what servers to lookup that room on to join it, while chat will just go to the fedora web application (which might be anoying if you are using another server/client already).

Might mention that this is controlled by (I think) sysadmin-updates group membership?

Thats for the rdu2 community cage machines. For rdu3 machines you will want to go via bastion or the rh vpn
