The fix for issue #3508 breaks the ability to use an annotated git tag in the scm URL. The error is

76874 build (epel8-lscsoft, /computing/packaging/rhel/igwn-backports-config:v8-5): open (builder2.ldas.ligo-la.caltech.edu) -> FAILED: BuildError: Error running GIT command "git fetch origin v8-5:KOJI_FETCH_HEAD", see checkout.log for details

This worked in version 1.30.1.

Hi @wart , it fixes https://pagure.io/koji/pull-request/3630 and it should be in 1.31.1 version.
