LFNW2020 submission
This year, I am requesting $750 for a Silver Sponsorship. That covers a 5 ft. space. That's enough for a table and a banner. It also covers lunch (for 2 days) and T-Shirts for 2 people. I'm also requesting fuel for for myself.
I just submitted my talk for this year. It is called "The World of IT: Just Getting Started". Call-for-Paper deadline is Jan. 31, 2020 (Same as last year). LFNW is really quick to get back to us upon acceptance of the submitted talks. All talks are recorded and published on YouTube..mine included.
The booth will have demos of the latest and greatest Workstation. I am also doing a custom home network in my new house and will show my Fedora Server/Media server project there.
Budget: 750 for Silver Sponsorship 60 for gas for Jeff Fitzmaurice $$ for travel for TBA $300 for 2 night accommodations for each for potential out-of-towners (I will be commuting each day.)
Lodging:
Heliotrope Hotel https://www.heliotropehotel.com/
Average costs of hotel stay is $150 a night. There are some Air B&B options. Planning ahead is a good idea.

Hi @steelaworkn
A question Why the Community / Non-Profits table is not enough? (I'm not against the sponsorship just is not clear in the ticket)
also looks great for me
@bt0dotninja if we are always taking up space for free at these events, the events will cease to exist. At LFNW, Bellingham Technical Institute provides a huge venue including parking, classroom space (over several buildings), technical network support (and infrastructure), electricity, custodial, and food service to name a few things. If the big hitters of the Open Source and Linux communities fail to contribute enough, LFNW and other similar events will not be sustainable.
(And looks like I linked to last year's event page. I'll have to create new one and provide the link.)
And pending approval, where should Bill Wright send the invoice this year?
My event page is https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/LinuxFestNW_2020_Event. I always forget to request gas money. So the adjusted proposed budget is $750.00 + $40.00=$790. Pretty sure I will come under that. Last year I had a guest from Red Hat and was able to provide him 2 meal tickets and a T-Shirt for helping out.
+1
Look good for me too....
+1 from me as well. All set to set the invoice to me(Marie Nordin) at mnordin@redhat.com. Good luck for an awesome event, can't wait to hear how it goes :)

Thanks everyone.
Hey all. LFNW2020 has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 risk here in Washington State, USA. There is still talk regarding speakers recording to the LFNW YouTube Channel. For more information please visit https://blog.lfnw.org/2020/03/13/covid-19-cancellation.html . And we should talk about whether we want to be reimbursed for this year.
I just received an email from Bill Wright of LFNW:
Hi Jeff,
Unfortunately due to the corona virus breakout and subsequent containment orders from our County Health Dept. we have to postpone LinuxFest Northwest 2020 until next year April 23rd,24th,25th of 2021. The organizing committee is looking into digital options for 2020 as I write this. I'm prepared to offer all sponsors these options going forward: We retain your sponsorship fee and offer you the same level sponsorship in 2021 at the 2020 price. This includes advertising your sponsorship on the 2020 website as well as the soon to be created 2021 website. Of course I will honor any request for a full refund. Please contact me with your choice and questions. Bill Bill Wright LinuxFest Northwest (a 501c3) https://lfnw.org cell 360 7398127

Well, there you have it. Let me know what my next step is here. Thanks.
I am +1 to rolling the sponsorship over to next year
+1 to rolling the sponsorship for 2021 :)
OK. I've just communicated to Bill Wright to roll our sponsorship to 2021. Hope everyone is doing well. Have a good weekend.
We discussed the open tickets tagged needs event report during our Mindshare Committee Meeting in Nov. 4 2020. Based on the extraordinary circumstances of this year, and the length of time since the event took place, we are closing this ticket. Please consider writing a report for the event still, we would welcome it, and make sure to prioritize reporting for future events. Thanks!
