@dgilmore would like to be able to tag via the UI.

http://www.pygit2.org/objects.html#tags will help to create the tag

This may be able to support forcing a tag, not sure how this would work though

The last update was 7 years ago, no further requests, updates or actionable tasks since then, I'm going to close this issue for now to reduce our backlog.
