We should add tests to cover this

In case you missed my irc msg: i will add the tests later. Actually, i am leaving for bangalore tomorrow and i have a few things left to do. You can keep the pr open to remember this (for me), if you want.

I'm going to merge this as is, since I don't know when the next release will be, but please keep in mind the tests and let's add them when you're back :)
