Well, this wait_delay was supposed to be injected by the python app to make sure that the first one or two wait's are all 1 second, and then it becomes slightly longer. But this works for me.

These changes look reasonable to me.

The logic was changed to incrementally increase for each iteration up to 2 seconds but this variable wasn't being instantiated anywhere so here it is :)
