One of the things the modularity group is looking at is containerizing a number of the system services that are installed by default (like bind, for instance).
bind
For that to be possible, we need a way for pungi to be able to install containers into our images.
It is my understanding that this is difficult because when a container is installed, the docker daemon performs some kind of modification to it, but in pungi this is not trivial because there is no docker daemon running when we assemble the image.
This is a stretch goal for the Factory 2.0 team for F26.
At devconf in Brno, we handed this one back to @langdon and the modularity team. They're going to try and pull together some people who might know how to solve this to take it forwards.
According to @langdon this is still something desirable. Since there is no work being done on it, I'll close it and we can file a new ticket once this becomes relevant again (and we have details about implementation).
