#11353 htdig package has licensing issues
Closed: Fixed by kevin. Opened by pemensik.

  • Describe the issue
htdig package has been found to have non-free license in some of its parts. It should not be included in upcoming release anymore for that reason. It seems dead anyway.

Bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2168501
Devel thread: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/KVC3SYNSKRN4JNUHEYNEEOMW3PNFV45Z/#KVC3SYNSKRN4JNUHEYNEEOMW3PNFV45Z

  • When do you need this? (YYYY/MM/DD)
Before Fedora 38 final is out. 2023-04-04

  • When is this no longer needed or useful? (YYYY/MM/DD)
After Fedora 38 is released, 2023-04-18

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?
htdig is distributed in new release even when license issue is known.

You can retire in f38 until final freeze. You should just be able to 'fedpkg retire' it in the f38 branch.

Can you do that and let us know if you run into any problems?

I cannot do that anymore. I retired rawhide branch and orphaned it too proactively. It seems it is not possible to take it anymore, I cannot push any changes anymore.

ok. I have merged rawhide into f38 and pushed it out. It should be blocked the next compose.
