I'm unable to build last security update of java-latest-openjdk-portable for epel8+9.

Last time I was building for epel8/9 was December 2023 and all was ok.

  • When do you need this? asap, blocking security update

  • When is this no longer needed or useful? N/a

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?

java-latest-openjdk(-portable) wil no longer be receiving updates. It will soon become jdk22.

hmm. There was actually recently a change, which could be cause - new package, java-21-openjdk-portable was recently added to fedora (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2259194)

Thsi paackage, and java-latest-openjdk-portable are currently both jdk21, and thus ahve identical provides. But where java-latest-openjdk-portable is supposed to be built for epel, java-21-openjdk-portable indeed must not be built for epel.

If this is the issue,, and there is njo better fix, I will bump java-latest-openjdk-portable to jdk22

Yah, thats it, java-latest-openjdk-portabloe is now broken. It keeps building as java-21-openjdk-portable.
