#12872 Files in repo location, but missing from dnf search

  • Describe the issue
All of the zbar*.rpm files (and perl-Curses noted below) at https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/10/Everything/x86_64/Packages/z/ are not findable via dnf at least.
The entries before and after are findable, however.

zbar-0.23.93-7.el10_1.x86_64.rpm 2025-06-23 15:32 39K
zbar-devel-0.23.93-7.el10_1.x86_64.rpm 2025-06-23 15:32 31K
zbar-gtk-0.23.93-7.el10_1.x86_64.rpm 2025-06-23 15:32 27K
zbar-gtk-devel-0.23.93-7.el10_1.x86_64.rpm 2025-06-23 15:32 13K
zbar-java-0.23.93-7.el10_1.x86_64.rpm 2025-06-23 15:32 23K
zbar-libs-0.23.93-7.el10_1.x86_64.rpm 2025-06-23 15:32 149K
zbar-qt-0.23.93-7.el10_1.x86_64.rpm 2025-06-23 15:32 71K
zbar-qt-devel-0.23.93-7.el10_1.x86_64.rpm 2025-06-23 15:32 11K

Before and after in the "z" list are able to be found:

(not a releng person, just saw this ticket being filed)

Which distribution are you on?

The suffix-less "epel10" (and packages with the el10_1 dist tag) are (currently) exclusive to CentOS Stream 10 and what will become RHEL 10.1 when it is released. If you're on RHEL 10.0, then it is expected that those packages are not found, because they're only in the repos for EPEL 10.1.

Yes, el10(.0) is the distro.
This situation seems confusion as the name is the URL is just "10". Also, the perl-Curses example predates others that are available to stock el10.

Besides manually grabbing random files is there a way around this?

You can file bugs for each package to request the maintainer build them for EPEL 10.0 also, or just wait until RHEL 10.1 is released and you'll switch over to EPEL 10.1 automatically.

The URL is just "10" because EPEL 10 existed for CentOS first, as planned for the integration of minor versions in EPEL. You can find out more about this planning and details about the minor version branches at these links:
