Recently, i deal with a lot of nonrepsonsive packagers and people ask to be assigned to those. I open releng tickets. It's a bit tedious. I cannot imagine how tedious this is for releng.
Can I please be granted permission to reassign packages to different users? This might be the cvsadmin group. I'm already a provenpackager and I would only use this once the nonrepsonsive packager process is approved by FESCo.
When do you need this? The sooner the better.
When is this no longer needed or useful? This is always useful.
If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact? A lot of releng tickets from me.
Thank you.
+1 from me. I guess we should get @mohanboddu 's blessing too...
@mohanboddu Suggested on IRC that he would prefer automation over me :D
Well, sure... I think we all want to be replaced by automation for this task, but in the mean time...
Note that now I also handle the "orphaned packages need new maintainers" thing and I would gladly just assign the packages as people request them via reply to the e-mail, but I cannot.
Note that this could save releng's work.
+1 to grant these privileges to @churchyard
@mohanboddu ?
I still offer my help. Can I please have the permissions?
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/F31_Mass_Python_2_Package_Removal was approved.
I'd also like to ask permissions to orphan packages to speed up procedures described there and not to bother releng members.
Orphaning is a special case of changing owner. Membership of cvsadmin FAS group is needed to change project owners in dist-git.
Is there any chance I can get into that group? I requested this 7 months ago and there were 2 +1s and no direct problem with that.
If we can get a ack from @mohanboddu I'd be happy to add you.
@mohanboddu can we please get that ack? I'm good if you say no, but this has been sitting here for 8 months.
ack.
@churchyard I know you are helping us in retiring/orphaning processes, could you please document what you are doing(scripts you are using and what they do) (the docs are located in pagure.io/releng repo itself) and also, when you orphan/unorphan, can you create a ticket of what you did for tracking purposes.
Thanks.
I'll only orphan / assign packages based on my own tickets, thanks.
I'm currently only running https://pagure.io/releng/blob/master/f/scripts/find_unblocked_orphans.py every Monday.
In regards to Python 2 packages, I open bugs based on info from https://fedora.portingdb.xyz/
What shall I do now?
I give up.

Looks like mohan gave an ack and I didn't come back around and see that and add you. I'm sorry.
I'll go do so now...
