In #8811 we are trying to narrow down the number of things that write directly into our OSTree repositories. It would be nice if the nightly branched/rawhide composes could also use new-updates-sync so that we filter access through that one avenue.

Hey, we are going through old tickets and hit this one.

We never moved this to new-updates-sync I don't think...

Is this still desired? or shall we just close this one?

I guess feel free to close. I imagine this still has some use but we've been operating without it for some time so maybe we can just declutter it out of our minds for now.
